One of the hottest product lines on the market is the increasing number of items that include CBD. More and more people are turning to these products in order to help them in their everyday life, believing that is a safe way to do so. There are many ways to ingest it, such as through edibles. However, there is a good case for using topical CBD oil instead.
First, it is important to know what Cannabidiol or CBD is, as there are some people who mistakenly think it is marijuana or pot, which is it not. In fact, cannabidiol is not psychoactive at all, so it will not make you high. It does come from the hemp plant but does not alter your mind in any way.
What some claim that it actually does is to help you with things like anxiety and depression and even pain. Some studies have shown that it can have some therapeutic effects, though more studies are in the works to further prove this.
Using the CBD oil that you apply topically is an excellent way to get it into your system. If you take it by mouth or orally, it can take up to two hours to penetrate your system, and that is a long time to wait, especially if you are using it for pain or anxiety relief.
However, if you use the oil and rub it directly onto the skin, it absorbs immediately for much faster relief. In order to do it properly, you should only apply the oil into areas of the skin that are rich in CB2 receptors. The reason for this is because the body actually has barriers to absorption, but in areas with plenty of CB2 receptors, this is not as much of an issue. Some areas with these receptors include both knees, the right wrist areas, the temples, along your breastbone and around the ankles.
To apply, first clean the entire areas to reduce any absorption barriers, and then make sure it is completely dry before proceeding. Rub some of the product liberally along the areas you wish to get relief. Then put a dry cloth bandage over to help prevent staining of clothes and assist in further absorption. You can do this one to three times daily depending on how much relief you want or need. Remember, you will not get high from using it, so do not be afraid to use it as needed.
